Botunjac – Pinot Noir 2017
Pinot Noir, high quality dry red wine, geographically protected and estate grown by Kosta Botunjac’ uncompromising methods: unfiltered, without the use of electric pumps. Botunjac prefers to use only wild yeasts (no selective yeast) as they give the wine more complexity and he does not add enzymes or other additives. Pinot Noir is a very challenging varietal as it is very delicate, requiring constant care and pampering. But it makes some of the best wine in the world. The Botunjac vines grow on a site called “Hrašnjaci”, a cleared thousand year old oak forest.
Dark red wine with a ruby spark, clear and vivid in the glass. Wonderful black raspberry and cherry fruit on the palate, great concentration; with earthy notes and ripe soft tannins leading to a long silky finish; large oak barrel (foudres) aging gives the wine a unique and specific quality.
