Late harvest with some noble rot (botrytis) and 20 days of maceration.
Fermentation in open vessel, aging for 18 months in 500L old oak barrels resulted in an electric, groundbreaking orange wine.
These days Riesling wine comes from all over the world. Being highly terroir-expressive the character of Riesling wines is greatly influenced by the wine’s place of origin. Brilliant wine with pleasant tannins, fine acidity, spicy and herbal and a hint of vanilla and caramel. With a very complex character the aftertaste is long and soft. Once again a natural wine miracle by Oszkar Maurer, the uncrowned “emperor of botrytis.”
